Install

  1. Download and extract the .tar.xz — you'll get Reprise.app.
  2. Move Reprise.app to /Applications.
  3. First launch: right-click the app → Open (it isn't notarized yet), or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Reprise.app.
  4. For the downloader, install yt-dlp and ffmpeg (e.g. brew install yt-dlp ffmpeg).

Optional external tools

  • Playback works out of the box — MP3, FLAC, OGG and WAV decode natively. Install mpv or ffmpeg only for other formats or an alternate backend.
  • Downloader needs yt-dlp; ffmpeg is used for audio extraction and loudness analysis.

  • Storage: ~60 MB for the app, plus your library
